Colorado cyclist fatally struck in car accident

Cyclists all too often are the victim of motor vehicle accidents on the roads of Colorado. A former Air Force pilot was killed recently while cycling southbound down Highway 83 in Douglas County. He was rear-ended by a Jeep Wrangler driven by what officials say was a drunk driver. The cyclist was clothed in florescent yellow and wearing a helmet, but it was not enough to prevent this fatal accident.

Colorado skydiving excursion turns into fatal accident

When taking part in a skydiving exercise, one may have a reasonable expectation of safety. On April 1, a 35-year-old Colorado man was killed when he hit the ground after taking part in a tandem skydiving jump that turned fatal accident with his 28-year-old instructor. The instructor survived the impact but sustained critical injuries. The skydiving instructor was flown to Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs where he was listed in critical condition.

Cell phone use could be to blame: 2 killed, 1 injured

More often than not, motorists do not fully understand the risk they undertake every time they drive on Colorado roads. These dangers are real and ever-present each time someone gets behind the wheel of a vehicle. Furthermore, these dangers may be exponentially compounded when a negligent driver chooses to use their cell phone while driving. On March 31, a man thought to be operating his cell phone while maneuvering his vehicle gravitated towards the dirt shoulder of a roadway north of Denver, causing a fatal accident that killed two men and seriously injured a teenage boy.

Colorado fatal accident kills 2, injuries 3

Far too frequently Colorado residents understand that when drivers act with disregard for others on our roadways and highways, we all lose. This may well be the case when an automobile crash injures and kills innocent victims. Colorado State Patrol troopers are actively looking for a later-model black or burgundy sedan that was said to have been involved in a hit-and-run fatal accident that claimed the lives of two women and injured three people, including a 2-year-old.
