Colorado would be a much safer place if all drivers put safety first and followed the rules of the road. Unfortunately, that hypothetical scenario is far from reality. Negligent drivers cause car accidents every day. Few things are as frustrating as being involved in a car accident and having the at-fault driver flee the scene.
Driver flees after multiple accidents
Recently in Denver, a hit-and-run driver was said to have caused a couple of different accidents that resulted in injuries. The incident happened during the afternoon hours on South Parker Road just east of Interstate 225. Reportedly, the driver initially crashed into one vehicle, then fled the scene.
According to police reports, the fleeing driver then hit another car, which caused the car to crash into a bus. Authorities said the driver of the car that was pushed into the bus was critically injured and taken to an area hospital. Several passengers on the bus were also injured and taken to the hospital. Reports said the suspected hit-and-run driver suffered injuries as well.
Help for victims and families
There is just no way to predict what another driver will do. Unfortunately, people around the country take driving for granted and, in the process, endanger the lives of others. Although it only takes a second for a crash to occur, victims and families often feel the effects for years. Anyone in Colorado who has suffered injuries or the loss of loved ones in car accidents caused by the negligence of another party has the right to contact an experienced attorney to discuss their options for recourse. A successful lawsuit could provide victims and families with much-needed financial relief.
