Most bikers in Colorado would agree that motorcycles offer a sense of freedom and adventure, unlike any other vehicle. During the warmer months especially, motorcycles are a common sight on scenic roadways across the state. However, riding a motorcycle comes with inherent risks and dangers that are not present when driving a car, truck or SUV.
Driver fled scene after causing crash
Police are searching for a driver who apparently crashed into several motorcycles and fled the scene. The incident happened along the westbound lanes of Interstate 70 between the 32nd Avenue and Colorado Mills exits. According to police reports, several bikers were riding together when two of the motorcycles were hit by a tow truck. Reports said the driver then fled the scene of the crash.
Authorities responded to the accident and reported several motorcycles down. Reportedly, two riders were injured and one of them was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries. Officers from the Colorado State Patrol said they have an idea of who the driver may be but have not released any information.
Options for those injured
There are many factors that can contribute to motorcycle accidents such as road and weather conditions. When a motorcycle accident happens because of a negligent driver, those affected have options. Anyone in Colorado who is injured in a motorcycle accident caused by the negligence of another party has every right to seek legal assistance. An experienced and skilled personal injury attorney can help those injured navigate the legal system and pursue recovery of the financial relief they deserve.
