The tragic accident involved two vehicles and happened just before 9 p.m. at the intersection of East Mansfield Avenue and South Buckley Road. According to reports from Aurora police, a Dodge sedan was traveling east on East Mansfield Avenue, and the driver attempted to make a left turn onto South Buckley Road. Apparently, the Dodge collided with a Honda sedan at the intersection.
Reportedly, the Dodge caught fire after the collision. A passenger in the Dodge managed to escape, but tragically, authorities said the driver became trapped in the vehicle and perished in the fire. The driver of the Honda was apparently injured in the accident and taken to a local hospital, along with the passenger in the Dodge. The accident is currently being investigated by the Aurora Police Department’s Traffic Investigation unit.
