Although intersections in Colorado are strategically designed to be safe, they are often some of the most dangerous situations that motorists will encounter. At most heavily utilized intersections, traffic lights have been installed to control traffic. However, far too many drivers these days neglect to pay attention to these traffic signals, causing serious and even fatal car accidents
Details of a deadly two-vehicle accident
Recently in Falcon, one person was killed and several others were injured in a two-vehicle accident. The crash happened during the evening hours at the intersection of Meridian and Falcon Highway. According to reports from the Colorado State Patrol, a sedan was traveling through the intersection and crashed into a pickup truck.
Reports said the sedan ended up in a nearby ditch and a passenger was ejected. Tragically, the passenger was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. Reportedly, the driver of the pickup truck and two passengers were taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries. Police said a total of four people were transported to the hospital.
Where can accident victims get help?
Unfortunately, many Colorado drivers are unaware of the risks of traveling through busy intersections. A lot of accidents at intersections are caused by careless drivers who fail to yield or stop at red lights. When a negligent driver causes a car accident that injures or kills another person, victims or surviving family members have the right to take legal action against those deemed responsible. A successfully litigated lawsuit could provide victims and families with much-needed and deserved compensation.
