Although it is common knowledge that drinking and driving is one of the most dangerous things a person can do, many people in Colorado still choose to get behind the wheel while intoxicated. A recent fatal accident that occurred in Pueblo left two people dead and a driver facing very serious charges.
Details of the accident
The incident happened during the early morning hours on Interstate 25 in the northbound lanes just south of Exit 101. According to police reports, the driver of a pickup truck was traveling north at a high rate of speed and lost control of the vehicle. Police said the pickup truck sideswiped another vehicle and then crashed into a guardrail
Reportedly, two passengers were ejected from the truck, while another passenger was partially ejected. Tragically, authorities said the two passengers who were ejected died on the scene. The passenger who was partially ejected suffered serious injuries. Apparently, another passenger fled on foot. Police arrested the driver of the pickup and said he faces charges of DUI, vehicular homicide and careless driving.
