Most people are familiar with the adage “accidents happen.” For motorists, accidents seem to be almost inevitable. While many accidents are unpredictable and unavoidable, many accidents can be prevented by taking simple precautions such as staying focused and attentive while driving. Unfortunately, a lot of drivers in Colorado these days are anything but careful when taking the wheel.
Recently in Commerce City, an accident involving two vehicles killed four people and injured four others. The crash happened at night at the intersection of U.S. Highway 85 and East 112th Avenue. According to accident reports, a newer model SUV was traveling southbound on U.S. 85 at a high rate of speed when it violently collided with another SUV that was turning left at the intersection onto East 112th Avenue.
First responders said they arrived shortly after the crash happened and found four people dead at the scene. Reportedly, four other people were injured and transported to local hospitals for treatment. Police said two teenagers were among those killed. Their communities have been devastated by this tragedy.
Family members can have their world turned upside down when a dear loved one is lost in a tragic accident. Surviving family members are often left pondering the situation and may have questions about who is responsible and how to move forward. Those in Colorado who have lost a family member at the hands of negligence may want to consider speaking with a trusted and seasoned attorney. A wrongful death claim could be the best way to gain answers and seek full accountability.
