In crowded Colorado cities like Denver, it seems like just getting from point A to point B can be a difficult task. These days, roadways are often overcrowded and congested, so drivers must stay focused at all times to avoid car accidents. Unfortunately, it’s just a statistical fact that the vast majority of motorists will be involved in a crash at some point in their lives.
Multi-vehicle crash
Recently in Colorado Springs, an accident involving multiple vehicles resulted in several people suffering injuries and a driver facing serious charges. The crash happened during the evening hours along Interstate 25 just south of the W. Bijou Street interchange. According to reports, an SUV was traveling southbound when the driver lost control and struck a guardrail in the center median. The SUV continued into northbound lanes of the roadway where it collided with a northbound vehicle. Reports said a total of three vehicles were involved in the crash.
Serious charges
Authorities said the driver of the northbound vehicle and five occupants of the SUV sustained injuries. Reportedly, one of the passengers in the SUV was seriously injured. Police said the driver of the SUV was suspected of driving while intoxicated. She was arrested and charged with DUI, vehicular assault and other serious charges.
Tragically, victims of car accidents sometimes require substantial medical care, which can be very expensive. Those in Colorado who have suffered injuries or loss due to negligence in car accidents have the right to take legal action and pursue damages. By contacting a skilled litigator and filing a lawsuit, victims and families could be awarded much-needed financial relief in a successful claim.
