Head-on car accidents often claim multiple lives

Most Colorado drivers know the feeling of traveling behind a slower moving vehicle and wanting to pass it. People completing this maneuver must do so with extreme caution, as car accidents sometimes happen in such situations, often resulting in tragedy. Unfortunately, this was the case in a fiery crash in Cheyenne County in which eight people died.

Careless driving can lead to fatal car accidents

All Colorado residents holding a valid driver's licence should know the responsibility that comes with such a document. Drivers must always remember they are in charge of a large piece of machinery that, if not properly controlled, could seriously injure or kill a person. Safe operation of a motor vehicle means drivers should not only follow all the rules of the road, but also maintain focus on the task of driving during their entire time behind the wheel. Car accidents can occur in a split second, and even a few moments of inattention can result in tragedy. Unfortunately, this may have been what happened when a woman was killed in a crash west of La Junta.

Colorado car accidents: Man killed on side of highway

Many Colorado drivers have, at one time or another, experienced car trouble while on the road and have had to pull over to the shoulder to address the problem. Most often, people in such a predicament can safely do what needs to be done and continue on their way. However, sometimes car accidents result from these situations, either during the attempt to exit the road or when the driver or passengers are standing outside the vehicle once it has stopped. In fact, tragically, a Fort Lupton man was recently killed on a highway in what is believed to have been a hit-and-run incident.

Car accidents: Boy killed in hit-and-run crash at intersection

Safe drivers know that not only must they thoroughly understand and follow the rules of the road, they also must consistently maintain focus while operating a motor vehicle. Unfortunately, car accidents often happen, in Colorado and elsewhere, when people fail to meet these requirements. Many different types of circumstances may lead to a crash, of course, but driving while impaired or distracted or other reckless driving behaviors are common causes. Any one of these factors may have contributed to a recent tragic incident that killed a male juvenile. A suspect has now been arrested in connection with the fatal hit-and-run crash.

Car accidents: Victim of fatal crash identified

Colorado State Patrol has issued a statement identifying the victim of a fatal car wreck in El Paso County. A 20-year-old man from Colorado Springs died after presumably causing an accident that involved three vehicles. Several others sustained injuries of ranging severity in the incident, and as with the victims of all car accidents in this state and across the country, they retain the right to seek compensation for the damages they incurred.
