There have been many campaigns over the years, especially on social media, that warn automobile drivers to remain aware of motorcycles riders sharing the roads as one means of helping prevent motorcycle accidents. No matter the pleas for safety, motorcycle accidents causing serious injury or death are still prevalent across the country. A recent nighttime accident has left one Colorado man fighting for his life.
According to a Colorado State Patrol report, the man was riding his motorcycle when he suddenly hit a sedan. Rescue personnel responding to the scene treated the man and then transported him to a medical facility just a few miles away. His injuries were considered to be life-threatening. Details of the collision were sparse.
The report did not reveal the medical condition of the driver of the sedan. He was placed under arrest and taken to the local county jail. Police believed he had been drinking and charged him with suspicion of DUI, left-turn violations and vehicular assault.
As the man struggles to recover from his injuries, he will likely have substantial medical and rehabilitation bills. He also will likely have missed more than a few days from work. Both situations will surely put a toll on his finances. Filing a personal injury lawsuit seeking financial compensation would, if awarded, pay for medical and other bills attributed to his accident. Colorado attorneys experienced in dealing with clients injured in motorcycle accidents can advise those injured in similar circumstances regarding all possible sources of liability and the best steps toward achieving a monetary judgment.
