With the millions of people on the road each day, there are bound to be numerous car accidents in every state. Some car accidents may result in serious injuries or fatalities, while some barely cause a scratch to the vehicles involved. Colorado State Patrol reported on a recent afternoon accident between a bus and two sedans.
The report stated a blue sedan left its northbound lane on a state highway and crossed over into traffic headed south. It collided with a bus belonging to the nonprofit organization the Developmental Disability Resource Center. The impact caused the bus to roll to one side. A red sedan, also traveling south, subsequently crashed into the blue vehicle.
Of the 13 occupants on the bus, 10 were injured. Although authorities initially said there were no critical injuries, one of the bus passengers has since died. Several other bus passengers were treated for broken bones and fractures, while the drivers of all three vehicles were unscathed. After an investigation, troopers did not release information regarding possible citations or what caused the driver of the blue sedan to head into oncoming traffic.
Whether from injuries in car accidents or other types of mishaps, victims of negligence have the right to file a personal injury lawsuit against the party responsible to seek financial reparation for their suffering. The amount of money sought is usually enough to cover medical and rehabilitation costs, pain and suffering, and income lost as a result of missed days from work. A Colorado attorney who has experience with this type of lawsuit will be able to answer any questions a potential client may have.
