understandably, it is very important for drivers to pay attention to the numerous situations going on around them. Should there be distractions, the chances for car accidents rise. Car accidents have the potential to do great damage and adversely affect many people. A recent mid-morning accident has led to charges by the Colorado State Patrol.
The investigation is continuing into a crash allegedly caused by the driver of a transit service bus also involving a semi flatbed, a commercial van and a sedan. Troopers have gathered so far that the semi and a van following it had both slowed to turn into the parking lot of a business along the road when the bus crashed into the van. The van was crushed between the two larger vehicles and suddenly caught on fire. The sedan, in turn, ran into the back of the bus.
The 25-year-old driver of the van had to be cut out of the wreckage and was ultimately airlifted to a hospital nearly 40 miles away for treatment of serious injuries. The bus driver and his three passengers as well as a passenger in the sedan were taken to a local hospital for treatment with varying degrees of injury. The drivers of the sedan and the semi were not injured. The police have charged the 73-year-old bus driver with careless driving resulting in injury.
When car accidents cause injury or death, the victims often opt to file a lawsuit to get financial compensation. If awarded, that money can be used to pay off various bills accumulated as a result of the accident. A lawyer in Colorado who is well-acquainted with the laws pertaining to personal injury can help those who have been injured in an accident.
