There are more cars on the road today than ever before, which basically means that accidents are inevitable. Some car accidents are minor, with no apparent injuries. However, many car accidents are much worse, causing serious injury or even death. A 16-year-old Colorado high school student was killed in a recent Saturday late-morning accident.
According to several accounts, a car operated by a woman hit the car of an eyewitness who promptly reported the incident to police. The at-fault driver did not stop but continued on her way, coming to a busy intersection. Another witness called a local news station after seeing a boy standing on a median to the side of the road and watching the woman’s car hit him, killing him upon impact.
The driver stayed until police and emergency responders arrived. She was transported to a nearby hospital where she was treated for minor injuries. Police do not think drugs or alcohol played any role in the actions of the driver, but an investigation is ongoing.
