Personal injury lawsuits are frequently filed after people have been seriously injured or have died because of the negligence of another person. The injuries can come from a variety of sources, including car and truck accidents. One of a number of truck accidents on a Colorado interstate injured several people in a recent afternoon incident.
A Toyota sedan, followed by a Chevrolet sedan, which was followed by a semi all traveled through a construction zone on I-70. Traffic was slowing because the left lane in that part of the zone was closed. The Toyota and the Chevrolet were able to brake for the slower traffic but the semi was not. It hit the Chevrolet and sent it spinning into the left lane that had been closed. The truck then hit the Toyota before stopping.
A 5-year-old girl, an 8-year-old boy and two others in the Chevrolet as well as the person driving the Toyota were injured and were flown to local hospitals. The driver of the semi was not hurt. A report did not state whether or not there were charges pending, just that the investigation into the crash was ongoing.
If people are injured in truck accidents or any other type of mishap due to negligence, they may feel the need to seek financial compensation. If awarded, that money could cover any bills accrued because of the injuries they sustained. As each state has its own laws in filing a personal injury suit, finding a knowledgeable professional will help in determining the best course of action when facing the Colorado judicial system.
