When getting behind the wheel, most people have a destination in mind, the route they will take to get there and what they will do once they arrive. Very few, if any, have the idea that they may not get where they want to go because of an accident. Car accidents can happen in Colorado anytime, anywhere and on any road. Three drivers were recently affected in one of many car accidents coming off a major interstate.
According to a police report, the driver of an Audi was speeding and weaving between the northbound lanes on I-225. He took an exit to get off the interstate and ran into the back of an SUV that was stopped at a traffic light. The Audi did not stop but went through the intersection and hit a sedan, causing it to hit a pole on the side of the street.
All three drivers were taken to a nearby hospital, where the driver of the sedan died as a result of the injuries he sustained. The condition of the female driver of the SUV was listed as stable. Those who are investigating the crash think the driver of the Audi may have had a medical problem, but no update has been reported.
Depending on the outcome of the investigators’ reports, the Audi driver could not only be facing citations from the police but also a personal injury lawsuit by the driver who was injured but survived and a wrongful death suit by the family of the deceased driver. Any of these consequences may arise from car accidents due to negligent driving. Those in Colorado who have been victims of such accidents will want to find knowledgeable legal help who can represent their interests in a court of law.
