The death of a loved one can be difficult to process. Nearly every day across the country, the lives of loved ones are lost in car accidents. Some car accidents may be caused by unfavorable weather conditions or some may be caused by human operator errors. A Colorado man was killed in a recent night-time accident with alcohol consumption being a possible cause.
State patrol reports say a man was headed west in his pickup truck when he crossed over into oncoming traffic. He hit a two-occupant vehicle that was moving toward him. The collision caused the truck to catch fire and roll over. The other vehicle ran off the side of the road.
None of the three men in either vehicle was wearing a seat belt. The driver of the second vehicle was found to have died at the scene of the accident. His passenger was seriously injured and was taken to a nearby hospital. The truck driver was also taken to the hospital, but his injuries were listed as being minor. Law enforcement is continuing the investigation into the crash.
No charges had been leveled by the Colorado State Patrol against the driver of the truck at the time of the report. However, if evidence shows he is at fault, the family of the man who was killed may choose to file a wrongful death lawsuit. When car accidents result in serious injuries or deaths, it may be beneficial to explore the options available for seeking compensation for the various expenses that will surely be incurred in the aftermaths of those accidents.
