Car accidents can adversely affect many lives

The effects of car accidents may often impact more than just the people directly involved. People seriously injured or killed in car accidents usually have loved ones whose lives are also changed in some way as a result. A Colorado woman was recently killed in an accident that also injured her 15-year-old daughter.

The late-night accident occurred when a man driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee ignored a red light and proceeded through an intersection, crashing into a sedan. The force of the collision sent the sedan approximately 60 yards from where it was hit. The mother and daughter inside the sedan were transported to an area hospital, where the mother died soon after arrival. Other family members state the injuries to the daughter consisted of bruises and bumps, but she had not yet been released from the hospital at the time of a report on the incident.

The driver and a passenger were inside the Jeep at the time of the accident, but both men exited the vehicle and ran off after the crash. They were captured by police not long after their attempt to flee. While no charges were mentioned in the report, authorities do believe alcohol was a factor in the collision.

When car accidents result in death, grieving families may want justice served to those responsible. Many times that will mean bringing a civil suit against those found legally liable for the fatality. Colorado families who have experienced anguish because of the negligence of another person may want to speak to a knowledgeable professional about their legal options for seeking financial compensation.
