When car accidents become deadly, numerous individuals may be affected. Children, spouses and/or parents have to deal with loss in so many fatal car accidents. A recent accident in a Colorado town resulted in death to two people and injury to five others.
Police reports and witnesses told the events leading up to the accident. According to them, a 55-year-old man was seen collapsed in his black SUV while parked in a parking lot near the forthcoming crash. When he awoke, he started his car and sped away. As he came to an intersection, he was going approximately 70 to 80 mph. Two cars were waiting at the red light at the intersection and were hit by the SUV.
The driver and passenger in one of the cars were killed, one at the scene and the other after arriving at a hospital. Two additional cars were involved the crash, resulting in injury to the people in those vehicles. The driver of the SUV was also seriously injured and was been admitted to the hospital. He remains in police custody while recovering. Police are not ruling out the possibility that a medical condition may have been a factor in the accident.
The families of the two men who were killed as well as those who lived, yet suffered injuries, may choose to commence a lawsuit against the driver of the SUV. Any monetary judgment awarded in a wrongful death lawsuit could provide restitution for documented financial losses, including funeral and burial expenses and loss of future earning potential. Those in Colorado who are dealing with the aftermath of one of these types of car accidents have every right to seek professional help to protect their legal interests in seeking justice.
