When drivers don’t follow the rules of the road, Colorado accidents and injuries are not far behind. Despite how safe most drivers try to be, they cannot control what other drivers are doing on the road. Whether other motorists are not paying attention or are otherwise distracted, those momentary lapses are just enough to cause a car accident that could result in injuries to innocent victims.
During a recent early morning, according to the authorities, a two vehicle accident occurred in Colorado Springs. They say a driver in an Altima was traveling west and was attempting to make a turn onto the southbound Interstate. At the same time, an Integra was traveling east. As the Altima was turning, it reportedly crossed directly into the path of the Integra, causing a collision.
One of the people in the Integra was able to climb out of the vehicle unattended. The other person had to be removed from wreckage with assistance. Both of the victims were transported to the hospital for their injuries that were thankfully not considered life-threatening.
The driver of the Altima was taken in by Colorado police and later released after being issued a summons for a left turn violation. The injured victims may choose to pursue legal action against the person deemed responsible for the car accident. If the driver is found to have been negligent and the claim is otherwise successfully navigated, the injured victims may be awarded financial redress for their pain, suffering and financial losses they sustained.
