A driver who is behind the wheel without being in complete control of his or her senses is a recipe for disaster. Driving too quickly for conditions in Colorado and being under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs can cause a driver to make dangerous errors. The driver may not be able to maneuver his or her vehicle correctly and cause a car accident that could seriously injure an innocent victim.
A recent accident in Colorado Springs caused some streets to be temporarily closed following an accident. During a recent early morning, authorities reported that a silver sedan was headed west when it collided with a red sedan. Apparently, the silver car had improperly maneuvered a U-turn which caused it to hit the other vehicle.
Two people from the red car were transported to the hospital. Luckily, they were not seriously injured. The other vehicle had four occupants who were all transported to a nearby medical facility for serious injuries that were not considered life threatening.
The crash is currently under investigation by the Colorado Springs police. It is currently believed that the driver was speeding and was under the influence of alcohol and drugs at the time of the car accident. All of the injured victims may opt to file personal injury claims against the person deemed responsible for the collision. If the claim is successfully navigated, the injured parties may be awarded monetary compensation to help alleviate the burden of any incurred medical expenses as well as other financial losses recognized by applicable laws.
