The weather can make for an enjoyable drive if it is pleasant, but it can also cause slick conditions that make drivers prone to get into accidents. Colorado drivers who do not proceed with caution can easily cause a car accident if they lose control of their vehicle. If a driver is not careful, he or she may get injured as well as the passengers and other vehicles which are nearby on the road.
According to authorities, a young man over-corrected while he was driving and lost control of his vehicle. The pickup slide sideways across the center line and into the opposite lane of traffic. His vehicle collided head-on with another vehicle as he entered the opposing traffic.
All three of the people inside the vehicle were extricated by firefighters with the jaws of life. The driver received minor injuries. His wife was riding in the front-seat and was taken by air to a nearly medical facility for a spinal injury. Another passenger in the back of the car was also taken to the hospital and was last reported in critical condition.
According to a Colorado police lieutenant, the road conditions contributed to the accident. In conjunction with the car accident, the driver was charged with driving recklessly and causing serious injury. Alcohol is not a suspected causal factor in the accident, but toxicology report results will provide the final determination. The parties that were injured in this crash, if it is proven that the driver was responsible, can file a personal injury claim against the driver. If the case rules in favor of the injured parties, they may receive redress for pain and suffering as well as incurred medical expenses.
