Colorado truck accident hurts several after blown tire

Patricia M. Jarzobski

A number of factors can lead to a truck accident. Even though there are a variety of factors that can contribute, a truck accident is often preventable. It's important for Colorado drivers to properly maintain their vehicles for their safety and the safety of others. In one such event, an accident took place after a truck blew a tire.

The accident reportedly took place on the interstate at around 5:00 in the evening. Authorities indicate that a truck, which had a camper attached to it, blew a tire right in front of a minivan operated by a female driver. The woman swerved in an attempt to avoid the debris that landed on the road. Another truck swerved at the same time as the woman. The woman was unable to maintain control of her vehicle and the van ended up in a ditch lying on its side.

The woman's husband sustained the most severe injuries. His arm was restrained underneath the van, leaving him trapped in the vehicle. The woman and two children were taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries. The exact details of their conditions are unknown.

It is unclear who will be determined to be the responsible party in this truck accident. Depending on the outcome of this investigation and if the driver of the truck is deemed the responsible party, the woman and her husband may be able to file personal injury lawsuits against the other driver. The victims in this accident may face financial loss due to medical bills and lost wages. The victims may also experience pain and suffering. The civil court system in Colorado typically resolves these types of matters and will review evidence to determine who is responsible.
