Colorado truck accident: trucker injured after pile up on I-25

Colorado State Police report that recently, two separate multi-vehicle accidents ended up sending a truck driver to a local hospital. The multi-vehicle truck accident occurred on northbound Interstate 25 at mile marker 128 in Fountain. A total of five vehicles caused the highway to be closed to traffic beginning at around 1:30 in the afternoon, with the left lane of the highway opening shortly before 3 in the afternoon and the right lane reopening shortly before 4 in the afternoon.

Authorities believe a northbound vehicle on I-25 was either cut off or hit, which precipitated a chain reaction car and truck accident. The original vehicle veered across the median strip and struck a southbound truck. When those vehicles collided, a semi-truck transporting a trailer attempted to steer clear but crashed into another semi-truck with no trailer. The semi-truck with the trailer subsequently veered in the median and caught fire, resulting in injuries to the trucker that required hospitalization.

While it is as yet unclear exactly what precipitated the crashes, the truck driver that suffered injury will likely incur costly medical expenses and endure a possibly painful recovery. Colorado personal injury law provides seriously injured parties the right to pursue civil claims against parties whose negligence caused or contributed to the collision. The police report may give a good indication as to which party or parties are legally responsible for property damage and resulting injuries.

The injured truck driver may wish to file a personal injury claim in an effort to recover expenses for medical bills and other related costs, as well as damages for any lost time from work and pain and suffering occasioned by the incident.
